CALL FOR PAPERS “Truth: The Value of Knowing”

INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF COLOMBIAN STUDENTS IN EUROPE 

The Círculo de la Palabra invites Colombian master’s and doctoral students from European universities to participate in the 1st International Meeting of Colombian and Colombian Students in Europe, which will take place between September 28th and 30th, 2021. The event is organized with the support of the International Catalan Institute for Peace (ICIP) and the Swedish Foundation for Human Rights.

The meeting aims to pave the way for the final report of the Commission for the Clarification of Truth, Coexistence, and Non-Repetition in the international academic scene, opening spaces for discussion about the truth and its dimensions, expressions, and contributions. Hence, supporting the moral and political legitimacy of the Truth Commission and its mandate.

We invite students to send their papers around five topics: (i) truth as a public good; (ii) fanaticism and improbable dialogues; (iii) polyphonies of truth; (iv) the legacy of truth for a society in transition; and (v) arts, languages, and aesthetics of truth. The papers should be sent no later than August 15th. to the e-mail: circulodelapalabrabcn@gmail.com. The winning paper for each topic will be awarded in a virtual ceremony on December 2021.
