Parallel reporting

The core mandate of the Human Rights Network (HR Network) is to allocate responsibility for, and coordinate, civil society’s joint parallel (shadow/alternative) reports to the various United Nations monitoring bodies.

The Swedish Foundation for Human Rights has long coordinated the report to the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR). The most recent report can be downloaded here, and information on the rights and the review process is available here.

In the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) 2024–2025 cycle, the Swedish Foundation for Human Rights is, for the first time, coordinating civil society’s joint parallel report to the United Nations Human Rights Council.
